The source of this photograph is unknown, but it captures the spirit of the WCC in one image. Together, women from all corners of the world can weather the storm together! Alternatively, we can say that these women gathered together for a viewing of a magnifecent occurence. Either way, when women come together it is powerful!
Speaking of powerful women, I heard this morning on NPR about the Gulabi Gang (pink gang) in Northern India: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7068875.stm. How incredible! I felt inspired and reasurred that really you can never underestimate what a small group of women can do!

Individual Counseling:  We provide women-centered psychotherapeutic services to individuals and groups working from an integrative psychodynamic perspective. We are also available for clinical supervision, consultation to agencies and organizations, as well as customized workshops and lectures.

An Open Informal Space:
A space for consciousness-raising, social organizing and gathering, or just a place to relax, have a cup of tea, and connect with others.

Lending Library:
Library including resources addressing the physical, mental, sexual, intellectual, spiritual, and political needs of women, both locally and globally.

Program Description

Both the first and second wave feminist movements had an impact on the history and development of social work practice. Today, however, there is little writing and opportunity for discussion about the impact of contemporary feminist theory on 21st century social work practice and scholarship. This program is designed to offer social workers an opportunity to gain an awareness and understanding of feminist theory in the context of social work practice. In doing so, this program will utilize the model of a developing non-profit organization and center for women, the Women’s Collaborative Circle, to discuss how gender-conscious services and programming can support not only the holistic needs of women today but support social workers’ professional growth and the impact of their work with clients. This interactive workshop encourages participants to bring case examples to be discussed that would benefit from exploration from a gender-conscious perspective. Handouts and educational materials will be provided.

Clinical Objectives

1. Gain basic awareness and understanding of feminist theory in the context of social work practice using the WCC as a model.

2. Discuss how gender-conscious services and programming can support social workers’ professional growth and work with clients.

3. Evaluate your current professional needs for expanding the work with your clients from a gender-conscious perspective.

Description: This is a fun, lively and interactive session for mothers, adult daughters, or mothers and daughters attending together. This program introduces core concepts and skills that can improve communication between mothers and daughters, as they learn to better understand one another from the perspective of the other. Both mothers and daughters will gain valuable insights about how they can improve both listening and talking between each other.

Your skills
-The development and organization of the WCC is looking for professional and volunteer women to offer ideas for services and programming to our online and local community.
-Are you a dance therapist, musician, artist, social worker, psychologist, stay-at-home mom, teacher, business woman, etc. who is looking to share your ideas for empowering others? Then contact us! info@womenscollaborativecircle.org

Your creativity and passion
-The development of the WCC is dependent on your voice! Tell us what you are looking to learn about yourself and how can we help your growth.
-We are looking for people to suggest topics and infromation to be published and shared on the blog and in our community.

Advisory board
-An advisory board has been formed.  We are always looking for new members interested in participating in various committeesto facilitate the development of the WCC.
-We are looking for individuals passionate about the empowerment and education of women and girls and would love to have your voice heard.

Donations
-Donations are always welcome! At this time donations will help with start-up costs for the organization such as marketing, cost of renting office/group/workshop space, materials needed for workshops, etc.
-At this time the WCC does not have its non-profit status. Donations are not tax-exempt, however all donations go into the operating costs for services and programming.
